Volunteers Continue to Make a Difference
The generosity of Firehouse Quilts volunteers continues to make a meaningful impact throughout Colorado. At our most recent sew day, 60 members turned in 114 quilts, 15 pillowcases, 44 bags, 8 baby hats, 5 coin purses, and several other useful items. Each item represents hours of sewing, quilting, knitting, or crocheting, all created with the hope of bringing comfort to someone facing a difficult situation. Firehouse Quilts Brings Comfort to ChildSafe Colorado
On June 23, 2026, Firehouse Quilts volunteer Sara V. delivered 80 quilts to ChildSafe Colorado in Fort Collins. These quilts will be given to children and families receiving services, offering comfort, warmth, and reassurance during some of the most difficult times in their lives. A Remarkably Productive Sew Day
Fifty-seven talented and generous women gathered at Above and Beyond on May 20 to support Firehouse Quilts and our mission. Together, they turned in an incredible 220 quilts, bringing our year-to-date total to 1,049 quilts. What an amazing accomplishment! Ralston House is Very Busy!

Mountain Resource Center Reaches Out to Many Groups
The Mountain Resource Center in Conifer provides essential services that empower people to thrive in surrounding mountain communities. There is help for families faced with losing their home, in need of food, struggling with mental health problems, and Veterans in need of assistance. Stable Homes for Children
The Arapahoe County Adoption agency works to connect children with loving and permanent families. The children are placed in homes that will provide lifelong care and stability. A new State Bill was recently passed that requires Arapahoe County to finalize adoptions by July. While at their adoption hearings, the children can personally pick out a quilt donated by Firehouse Quilts on this special day. A Special Delivery to New Legacy Charter School
On April 29, Firehouse Quilts volunteers Jacque, Cathy, Christie and Karen made a meaningful delivery to New Legacy Charter School, providing 42 quilts, 7 stuffed toys, 1 pillow, 28 receiving blankets, 19 burp cloths, 5 crocheted blankets, and 5 dolly quilts. Exciting Events at Florence Crittenton Services
Staff and volunteers at Florence Crittenton Services are preparing for a special Mother’s Day event in the gym. A Heartfelt Thank You to Joyce
Joyce Johnson has been a member of Firehouse Quilts for more than 23 years. Over the years, she faithfully attended sew days and created many beautiful quilts for FHQ. As time passed, declining eyesight made it difficult for her to continue sewing. Even so, Joyce found a way to keep contributing by making small drawstring bags, often used by children as suitcases. 2026 First Quarter Donations
Firehouse Quilts received $2,790 in donations from January 1 through March 31, 2026, and we are so grateful for this incredible support. Supporting Marisol Homes
On April 14, Jacque, Cathy and Karen delivered 49 quilts, six afghans, 10 receiving blankets with burp cloths, 15 pillowcases and 10 toys to Lynda, the Operations Manager at Marisol Homes. Part of Catholic Charities of Denver, Marisol Homes provides an extended stay shelter for pregnant women and single women with children. Firehouse Quilts recently delivered 35 quilts to the Arvada Fire Department Administration Building, with Barbara C making the drop off at one of their stations.
