108 Quilts and a Whole Lotta Love for TESSA
On December 11, 2025, Barbara M. and Carol G.’s husband, Bill, delivered a car full of wonderful handmade items to TESSA in Colorado Springs. The delivery included 108 quilts, 114 pillowcases, 61 Christmas stockings, 23 handmade toys, and 14 knitted hats. Lauren B., TESSA Coordinator, was amazed when she saw the overloaded car. Christmas at Craig Hospital
Twenty quilts and 26 Christmas pillowcases were delivered to Craig Hospital on December 10, following the Firehouse Quilts Sew Day by Barbara C. Jill and Abby were on hand to receive these items... just in time for Christmas. Quilt Number 2,178 Turned in at December Sew Day
The final sew day of the year was on December 10, with 53 members attending and turning in 97 quilts. It’s been a productive year for the ladies who have made and turned in 2,178 quilts which is truly amazing. The members are devoted to making and donating quilts to children and patients in need across Colorado. Warren Village Preparing for Christmas
Jacque, Lynn, and Christie delivered 17 kids quilts, 12 mom quilts, 20 stockings, and 12 squishmallows to Nick at the corporate office of Warren Village on December 8, 2025. Some of the items will be handed out at their Christmas parties and the quilts will go on beds in their facilities at the Gilpin campus. Creating a Sense of Home at Shiloh House

Helping a Food Bank in Parker
On December 4, Jacque, Christie and Karen made a delivery to Debbie, Program Manager at SECOR (Southeast Community Outreach) in Parker. SECOR’s free food market helps over 450 families facing suburban poverty in Arapahoe, Douglas and Elbert counties. Their Food for Thought program provides over 2000 food bags a week to local elementary students to take home on weekends. Spreading Warmth at Excalibur Outreach’s Turkey Fest
From November 20–25, Excalibur Outreach hosted its annual Turkey Fest Meal Giveaways at eight locations across Colorado, including Thornton, Englewood, Denver Health Clinics, Greeley, Arvada, Westminster, and Pueblo. Help & Hope Is Extra Busy This Year!
Help and Hope continues to support clients in immediate crisis Monday through Friday with compassion and respect. They offer counseling and one-time assistance with utilities, water, rent, and other essentials. Clients can also receive clothing through thrift-store vouchers and take home up to five free items per visit. November Sew Day Brings Big Year-End Numbers
The November Sew Day welcomed 63 Firehouse Quilt members, who turned in a total of 189 quilts along with a large assortment of other items, including hats, fleece blankets, receiving blankets, and stuffed animals. A Heartfelt Delivery to our Veterans
On November 12, Alice Z. and her husband, Tony, delivered 65 quilts and 35 pillowcases to the Veterans Hospital. Working together with Debby from Volunteers for Hospitalized Veterans and Shelley from the hospital’s volunteer services, the quilts were shared with patients in the spinal cord ward, PTSD ward, and mental health ward. On November 7th, Firehouse Quilts proudly donated 209 quilts to Brian, a representative of Excalibur Outreach , in support of their incredible Thanksgiving initiatives. Wow - What a Sew Day!
Not only did we collect 219 quilts at our October Sew Day, but we also gathered 165 other handmade treasures including knit baby hats, festive pillowcases (Halloween and Christmas), stuffed animals, a bag with stuffed dolls inside, Christmas stockings, fun bags, pillows, three Halloween table runners for the Therapeutic Recreation Fall Dance, and even witch hats for the dancers! Marisol House is a Safe Place for Moms and Children
Marisol House is an extended stay shelter for pregnant women and single women with children. It is currently filled to capacity with 16 mothers and 32 children including two sets of twins. Happily, two of the families will be moving to their own housing soon. The women living there receive maternity care, case management, and childcare for up to a year.
