A Special Delivery to New Legacy Charter School
On April 29, Firehouse Quilts volunteers Jacque, Cathy, Christie and Karen made a meaningful delivery to New Legacy Charter School, providing 42 quilts, 7 stuffed toys, 1 pillow, 28 receiving blankets, 19 burp cloths, 5 crocheted blankets, and 5 dolly quilts. New Legacy Charter School serves teen parents and their children through a two-generation approach, supporting both young mothers and fathers. Exciting Events at Florence Crittenton Services
Staff and volunteers at Florence Crittenton Services are preparing for a special Mother’s Day event in the gym. Parents and students are invited, and mothers will receive quilts along with other items. Graduation is also right around the corner, with 34 students graduating this year. A Heartfelt Thank You to Joyce
Joyce Johnson has been a member of Firehouse Quilts for more than 23 years. Over the years, she faithfully attended sew days and created many beautiful quilts for FHQ. As time passed, declining eyesight made it difficult for her to continue sewing. Even so, Joyce found a way to keep contributing by making small drawstring bags, often used by children as suitcases. Generous Members Attend Sew Day
On April 15, 69 members of Firehouse Quilts gathered for Sew Day and once again contributed to a record-breaking collection. 2026 First Quarter Donations
Firehouse Quilts received $2,790 in donations from January 1 through March 31, 2026, and we are so grateful for this incredible support. Supporting Marisol Homes
On April 14, Jacque, Cathy and Karen delivered 49 quilts, six afghans, 10 receiving blankets with burp cloths, 15 pillowcases and 10 toys to Lynda, the Operations Manager at Marisol Homes. Part of Catholic Charities of Denver, Marisol Homes provides an extended stay shelter for pregnant women and single women with children. Fat Quarter Frenzy at Sew Day

Firehouse Quilts recently delivered 35 quilts to the Arvada Fire Department Administration Building, with Barbara C making the drop off at one of their stations. Clear Creek Advocates Receive First Quilt Donation
Cathy, Christie, Jacque, and Karen traveled to Idaho Springs on February 2 to meet with Clear Creek Advocates and deliver 18 adult quilts and 40 snuggle quilts. Clear Creek Advocates is community based rather than connected to a police or social services department, although they work closely with these agencies. January Sew Day Recap: Kicking Off 2026 in Record Fashion
Our January 21 sew day marked the first sew day of 2026, and it set the tone for an incredible year ahead. We were thrilled to welcome a record-breaking 73 people throughout the day. Holiday Celebrations Continue in January
Bad weather canceled the Firehouse Quilts holiday party in December, so it was postponed to January 7. Over 50 members attended the luncheon at St. Luke’s Methodist Church in Highlands Ranch. Thank You to the Generous Supporters of Firehouse Quilts!
Like many non-profits, most of the donations that Firehouse Quilts receives occur during the last quarter of the year and 2025 was no exception. Our largest fundraiser was the Colorado Gives Day campaign which began in November and ran through December 9. During that timeframe, over $8,000 was contributed to FHQ by members and other supporters. In total, almost $11,000 was donated to FHQ during the fourth quarter of 2025. There is always a strong push during the final two months of the year for members to finish quilts and other projects in preparation for deliveries.
