First Delivery to Wellspring
On September 11, Jacque, Christie and Karen delivered seven large quilts to Wellspring Community in Castle Rock, a new-to-Firehouse agency. Wellspring offers adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) a day program, work opportunities and residential services.
The Residential Program Manager, Hellen, was on hand to receive the quilts and will give them to residents as they move into their apartments. Through Wellspring’s independent living program, residents receive support in developing daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning and laundry. Other services include assistance with transportation to appointments and errands, access to 24/7 care and community-building events.
The Wellspring residential program helps address the critical need for long-term housing solutions for adults with I/DD. We look forward to continuing to work with this agency. Our quilts will provide warmth and comfort to new residents while helping welcome them into the Wellspring community.
