Quilts for Women's Bean Project Graduates

Barbara C. recently delivered 15 beautiful FHQ quilts to Ellen, Development Director of the Women's Bean Project (WBP). These quilts will be distributed to women as they graduate from the WBP training program.

The WBP graduates about 60 women each year, women who have developed skills that will enable them to secure viable employment. As you can imagine, the training slots are highly sought after, and the competition to be selected is great. In addition to job skills, participants receive tips on securing their next job, computer skills training, and a variety of services to support their personal health and motivation.

The soups, spices, snacks, and mixes you will find in the Women's Bean Project inventory help support women as they invest in themselves and cultivate the future they envision. Thirty-nine percent of participants are Hispanic and/or Latina. This community is 16% less likely to receive mental health support and, on average, earns 42% less than their male coworkers.
