School Starts at Florence Crittenton High School
On August 25, classes began at Florence Crittenton High School, a school that supports teen mothers as they balance pregnancy, children, family, and their education. Students can earn a diploma or GED and begin college courses at Flo Crit while their children are cared for in campus nurseries or enrolled in preschool. The school also provides counseling, a health clinic, and family advocates.
On August 20, Sarah and Jacque delivered 58 quilts, along with toys, afghans, burp cloths, bibs, receiving blankets, and a large supply of baby clothes. Amanda, Manager of Development Operations, and Caroline, Nancy, and Britney, an alumna, were excited to inspect the donation when it arrived.
Two of the women shared that they had previously received Firehouse Quilts and have cherished them for several years. One quilt has even accompanied a three-year-old on picnics in the park!
The quilts were placed in backpacks filled with school supplies and handed out to students at the back-to-school assembly.
