Sew Days Return to Above & Beyond

On May 18th, the members of Firehouse Quilts were able to meet at Above & Beyond Sewing after two years of a pandemic break of holding sew days there. It was good to be at this location again and be able to access our supplies and cabinets full of fabrics. There were nearly 40 members who attended this sew day and turned in 276 quilts, making the 2022 yearly total 1,080 quilts. In addition, there were 100 pillow cases, 49 receiving blankets, 2 hats, and 18 crocheted blankets turned it. Two tables were piled high with quilts making the bed turning a long event. Ten ladies worked for two hours bagging and labeling all of the items turned in. The sew day was quite productive and fun.
