Joyce Johnson has been a member of Firehouse Quilts for more than 23 years. Over the years, she faithfully attended sew days and created many beautiful quilts for FHQ. As time passed, declining eyesight made it difficult for her to continue sewing. Even so, Joyce found a way to keep contributing by making small drawstring bags, often used by children as suitcases. Bad weather canceled the Firehouse Quilts holiday party in December, so it was postponed to January 7. Over 50 members attended the luncheon at St. Luke’s Methodist Church in Highlands Ranch. Guests enjoyed a meal of delicious Olive Garden food, followed by cheesecake for dessert. Cathy D. made charming table favors, and everyone received a gift bag filled with an assortment of goodies.
