FIREHOUSE QUILTS

OF COLORADO, INC.

Quilts for Veterans

Fifty-one quilts were delivered to Debby and Tom of the Volunteers for Hospitalized Veterans, Inc. (V4HV) to be delivered to veterans currently receiving treatment at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Aurora, located at Fitzsimmons. The quilts will be distributed to veterans, along with a care package, on November 11, Veterans Day.

V4HV was established in 1997 and continues to support veterans facing hardships through hosting special events and supplying specific equipment and services to units, programs and facilities of the VA. They have a booth in the hospital’s lobby each Wednesday where they sell popcorn, snacks and military memorabilia. Any extra quilts will be given to Fischer House, a housing facility for out-of-town veterans receiving medical treatment at the VA hospital.

While Firehouse Quilts may not be able to provide a quilt for each patient in the VA hospital’s 150 beds, we’d love to provide as many as we can! Larger quilts (lap size 50” by 70”) or wheelchair size (40” by 50”) would best suit the needs of these recipients.
