On August 22, Jacque and Barbara C. delivered 40 quilts, of various sizes, to Stephanie at Denver's WellPower program. This is where the DENVER STAR (Support Team Assisted Response) program is managed. This program is currently working with all 6 Denver Police Districts.
Staff of the STAR vans include a mental health professional and an EMT. They are often called for domestic violence, homelessness, and alcohol and substance abuse issues. The organization will be eventually adding 4 more vehicles, so FHQ will be sending more quilts as the weather cools and the need grows. There will be much need ahead.
