On June 19th, Sew Day was held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Lakewood. Members turned in 141 quilts, 44 pillow cases, 3 crocheted blankets, 7 Christmas stockings and 9 dolly quilts. So far this year members have turned in 916 quilts, with 485 donated to participating groups.
The items turned in will benefit various Colorado organizations such as Craig Hospital, Denver Police Department, Florence Crittendon and many more.
Members were also able to choose from donated fabrics and kits to further Firehouse Quilts' mission to make and donate quilts for those in need.
