Jordan N, a case worker at the Crisis Center, is currently experiencing a very busy summer. The shelter in Douglas County has been full for months and has had to rely on a room at a hotel nearby for the 21 people in need of help. Men and women and their children are helped to end domestic violence through advocacy, education, and prevention at the shelter.
One client called the shelter her “safe haven” during her stay there. Families are assigned a liaison who can help with therapy and legal aid. With school starting soon, they can also help children to safely return to classes at their schools.
Jordan received 27 quilts and 20 pillowcases from Firehouse Quilts on August 2nd for the shelter. We have had a partnership with them for over 15 years.
