FIREHOUSE QUILTS

OF COLORADO, INC.

Delivery to Thornton Fire

In early February, sixteen snuggle quilts were delivered to the Thornton Fire Department. Engineer Brown was happy to receive these quilts to provide warmth and comfort to those they come into contact with during the cold winter season. The quilts will be distributed throughout the department.

Two stories were told:

  • A domestic violence victim, with a young baby, came to the fire station looking for assistance. While waiting for the police department to respond, to take them to a safe haven, a quilt was given to the baby to provide warmth. The mother was very appreciative.

  • A small child was quite upset that her grandmother was being treated and transported in an ambulance. While the little girl and her mother waited on the front porch, in the cold weather, the firefighters gave the girl a quilt to provide warmth and comfort. The little girl was "super happy."
