The Mountain Resource Center in Conifer provides essential services that empower people to thrive in surrounding mountain communities. There is help for families faced with losing their home, in need of food, struggling with mental health problems, and Veterans in need of assistance. In addition to these services, there are Women's Support Groups, Wellness Counseling, and a Preschool for 4- and 5-year-olds. On May 21, Firehouse Quilts donated 51 adult and child sized quilts to Pam K, the Volunteer Coordinator at MRC as well as 4 crocheted blankets, 6 stuffed toys, and 10 receiving blankets with burp rags. Leslie, who is the Director of the Preschool, personally thanked Jacque for the quilts and said how much the children enjoy them, and their families are always surprised that the quilts are meant as a personal donation to them.
