Our January 21 sew day marked the first sew day of 2026, and it set the tone for an incredible year ahead. We were thrilled to welcome a record-breaking 73 people throughout the day. Some stayed to sew, others stopped by to drop off finished quilts, and many joined us for bed turning before heading out. Every role played a part in the day’s success.
By the end of the day, an impressive total of 255 quilts had been turned in, along with 29 pillowcases, 5 receiving blankets, 2 receiving blankets with bibs, 2 additional bibs, 2 crocheted blankets, 5 dolly quilts, 4 knit adult hats, and 16 stuffed animals. Each item represents hours of care and a shared commitment to providing comfort where it is needed most.
Sew days are about more than production. They are about connection, shared purpose, and the joy of working side by side, even if only for a short time. Whether someone spent the day sewing, stopped in to drop off quilts, or counted and bagged quilts, every contribution mattered.
Starting 2026 with such strong participation and generosity was inspiring. Thank you to everyone who made our first sew day of the year such a success. Because of you, hundreds of handmade items can be delivered to children, families, and individuals across Colorado who will feel the care stitched into every piece.
