Each year, Firehouse Quilts honors its dedicated volunteers with a special appreciation event featuring sewing, fellowship, meals, door prizes, and thank-you gifts. This year's event was held June 5 and 6 at the Roxborough Community Center. The peaceful setting provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation, creativity, and enjoying the beautiful scenery.
Forty volunteers attended the event and spent two days sewing on personal projects or quilts for Firehouse Quilts. A Qdoba dinner was enjoyed by all, along with four delicious homemade desserts prepared by FHQ members. The annual gathering gives the FHQ Board an opportunity to recognize and thank the volunteers whose dedication, generosity, and countless hours of service make our mission possible.
One highlight of the event is the opportunity for volunteers to select their own door prizes. Throughout the year, prizes are collected through donations and the generosity of supporters who contribute quilting-related items. We extend our sincere thanks to The Warm Company, Patty Z., Sue R., Cathy D., Bonnie G., and Barbara C. for their generous donations. Their support helped make the door prizes truly special and added to the enjoyment of the weekend.
