Firehouse Quilts Delivers Comfort to SECOR

Firehouse Quilts recently met with Debbie Blair, Program Manager at SECOR in Parker, to deliver 56 quilts, 6 afghans, 22 receiving blankets, 10 burp rags, 10 stuffed toys, 3 dolly quilts, and 5 crayon bags. The donation will help bring warmth and encouragement to families facing difficult circumstances throughout the coming months.

During the visit, Debbie shared that demand for services continues to grow. The organization now serves more than 500 families each week and has expanded operations to provide assistance six days a week. In addition to its food distribution programs, SECOR supports local schools with thousands of supplemental food bags and continues to develop programs that address the unique needs of the families they serve.

The comfort items from Firehouse Quilts are carefully distributed so that families visiting on different days all have an opportunity to receive something. Staff shared how much the quilts are appreciated and noted that many recipients ask about the organization behind these handmade gifts.

We are grateful for our partnership with SECOR and for the dedicated Firehouse Quilts volunteers whose generosity helps provide comfort, hope, and a reminder that someone cares. We look forward to returning later this year with another delivery of quilts and holiday stockings.
