The Sew Day on March 18, was held at the LDS Church in Lakewood, and once again we extend our heartfelt thanks to our wonderful hosts, Bonnie and Bob M. Along with other church members, they took care of setting up and taking down all the tables and chairs for our 57 attendees, making the day run smoothly from start to finish.
Thanks to an overflowing inventory, boxes and boxes of fat quarters were available, and members had a great time selecting their favorite fabric combinations. Carol Green generously shared several versions of a quilt pattern she created using charm squares, along with tips on how easily it can be adapted for fat quarters.
By the end of the day, an impressive 183 quilts were turned in, pushing our year-to-date total past 600. In addition, members contributed pillowcases, dolly quilts, stuffed animals, crocheted blankets, and hats.
These handmade items will soon be in the hands of those who need them most, benefiting organizations such as Mountain Resource Center, the Crisis Center, and Shiloh House.
