On August 17th, Catholic Charities in Castle Rock received 64 quilts and 13 crocheted baby hats. According to a case worker, Kate B, the biggest need of their clients currently is help with rent/mortgage payments or shelter vouchers. Many are struggling with making their home payments as a result of the pandemic. Others are dealing with homelessness. Another case worker, Alyssia, told of a couple who had recently received two quilts donated by Firehouse Quilts. They are living in a camper shell and were in need of bedding. They were very appreciative to receive the quilts. Catholic Charities also offers services to help individuals and families move toward self-sufficiency such as utility costs, food boxes and gas cards.
