On December 10, Jordyn N, the Intake Coordinator at The Crisis Center, received a donation from Jim S. In the donations were 19 Christmas quilts, 15 Christmas pillowcases, and 21 stockings. The shelter serves those who are experiencing domestic abuse. Jordyn explained that the Adopt a Family program is in full swing at the shelter, and they have collected gifts for close to 50 families. The Firehouse Quilts items will be a perfect addition to the gifts. The stockings have been a big hit because families are celebrating the holiday season in new living situations.
Currently, the five room shelter and hotel rooms are full with 5 families. In 2025 The Crisis Center will transition to providing shelter through hotel partners only. In 2024 they have served almost 400 individuals with shelter, community-based advocacy, therapy, and legal advocacy.
