Tornado Warnings Interrupt Sew Day

On May 10th, the sew day was a bit quieter with only 40 members attending. There were 93 quilts to be viewed during the bed turning, making the new total of 781 quilts that have been turned in during 2023. In less than five months, 377 of the quilts have been donated this year. There were also 20 pillowcases, 15 large bags, and 2 crocheted blankets made by the members of Firehouse Quilts.

A nice supply of donated fabrics was available for everyone to go through to replenish their supplies to make more quilts in the future.

Unfortunately, the weather became stormy quickly and tornado warnings cut the sew day short. Despite the heavy rain and hail, everyone made it home safely.
