FIREHOUSE QUILTS

OF COLORADO, INC.

Thanksgiving Meals and Quilts for Many Families

On October 28, the Board members of Firehouse Quilts met Brian and Justin, the organizers of Excalibur Outreach to donate 102 quilts to them. The quilts will be handed out during their Thanksgiving meal donations in Arvada, Denver, Boulder, Englewood, Westminster, and Pueblo.

Brian started this organization in 2017 when he had an extra turkey to share with a needy family and realized there was great need for many more meals. Excalibur now helps 1,000 underserved children and families. Turkeys are donated through high schools, fire departments, police departments, and the public.

In addition to this event, Excalibur also provides bikes for youth in the spring, school supplies and backpacks in the fall, and toys at Christmas. Other items donated by FHQ were seventeen afghans, 15 receiving blankets, and 25 pillowcases.
