On November 14th, Kim and Shellie, who work at Mountain Resource Center, received 40 quilts and stockings from Firehouse Quilts. Since 1990 Mountain Resource Center has served Jefferson and Park counties with the belief that a community must be healthy, secure, and connected. They provide a Food Share program, free preschool for working parents, support to Veterans, help with finding mental health services, and job placement.
Kim and Shellie shared that after our last donation in the spring an expectant mother of four children lost her husband and she was able to pick out quilts for all her children. It brought much comfort during their time of sorrow and crisis.
The quilts that were delivered will be used as holiday surprises for families and children who are clients at MRC.
