Marisol House Shelter Receives Quilts

On August 24th, the Marisol House Shelter in Lakewood received a donation of 76 quilts that included 15 large quilts and 61 snuggle quilts. In addition, 12 crocheted baby hats, 11 receiving blankets, and two crocheted blankets were delivered. Zira, the case work at the facility, advised that there are currently 14 mothers and 19 children being housed at Marisol House. There are 9 newborns included in the count of children. Several mothers were elated to see the delivery of quilts and quickly started looking at them as we were leaving. This shelter provides support services to help families regain independence. There is help for women to integrate back into the community by offering safe a housing environment, counseling, job training, and quality child care service.
