On November 12, Alice Z. and her husband, Tony, delivered 65 quilts and 35 pillowcases to the Veterans Hospital. Working together with Debby from Volunteers for Hospitalized Veterans and Shelley from the hospital’s volunteer services, the quilts were shared with patients in the spinal cord ward, PTSD ward, and mental health ward.
During the visit, we met Jim, Linda, Joe, Connie, Tom and his service dog, Archie, along with several other patients. Each veteran was grateful and genuinely touched by these handmade gifts. Even with the challenges they face, physically or mentally, their smiles said it all. You could truly see their spirits lift the moment they received a quilt.
