Guests Visit First Sew Day of 2023

A large group of over 45 FHQ members attended the sew day on January 23rd and turned in 206 quilts. In addition to the quilts, there were 63 pillowcases, 23 fleece blankets, and four dolly sized quilts turned in.

During the sew day, Summer A., the Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator for Highlands Ranch Community Association, stopped by to bring personal thank you notes and photos from the Halloween dance in October. Summer expressed the gratitude of the young adults who have received quilts from Firehouse Quilts for many years.

Another guest who visited the sew day was Molae W., who was a patient at Craig Hospital after a horrific car accident. Jan H., a FHQ member, wanted Molae to receive a quilt because she didn’t receive one while she was a patient at Craig, Jan personally picked out the quilt and presented it to her. It’s always good to have visitors at the sew days and learn about their lives.
