Delivery to Arvada Fire

Barbara C recently delivered 30 quilts to Arvada Fire and Rescue. 15 were snuggles which will go on the Fire trucks and ambulances. 15 larger quilts will go on the STAR van.

Arvada has instituted the STAR program (Support Team Assisted Response) where a team of mental health professionals will respond to non violent 911 calls. They are excited to have this program up and running.

We assumed the STAR calls would be adult related so took lap size quilts. It turns out that some calls involve really young children, so for our next delivery we will include baby and toddler quilts for STAR also. As you can see from the attached picture, several members of Arvada Fire were there to great us.
