It takes a village! Craig Hospital is very grateful for all the Volunteers that support their mission and patients. Volunteers support Craig's physical therapy, occupational therapy, therapeutic recreation, the Peer Mentor Program, sewing adaptive supports and the Craig Gift Shop. This is an incredible group of people. Firehouse Quilts of Colorado is certainly included in this group of outstanding people! FHQ has been partnering with Craig for over 8 years offering between 120 and 150 quilts...

On October 23, Sara V delivered items to be given out at the Therapeutic Recreation Fall Dance. Included in this delivery were 52 quilts, 77 pillowcases, 2 witch's hats, 7 Halloween bags and 4 table runners. The Therapeutic Recreation Program is designed to enhance the quality of life for individuals with special needs. The program is led by Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists and/or qualified staff to challenge participants, support general independence, choice, and self-confidence....

On November 12, Alice Z. and her husband, Tony, delivered 65 quilts and 35 pillowcases to the Veterans Hospital. Working together with Debby from Volunteers for Hospitalized Veterans and Shelley from the hospital’s volunteer services, the quilts were shared with patients in the spinal cord ward, PTSD ward, and mental health ward. During the visit, we met Jim, Linda, Joe, Connie, Tom and his service dog, Archie, along with several other patients. Each veteran was grateful and genuinely touched...
