FIREHOUSE QUILTS

OF COLORADO, INC.

Women Find Help and Hope

On Friday August 22nd Barbara, Cassie and Deb took 19 beautiful quilts to the Women's Bean Project in Denver.

This nonprofit social enterprise “supports women striving to create lasting change in their lives by establishing steppingstones to self-sufficiency”. That’s it in a nutshell, but it is so much more. The women finish their GEDs, get counseling, classes, have access to doctor appointments, and learn how to write resumes, all while being accepted with dignity and hope in a non judgmental way.

The women are taught how to work together in production of the products they sell. It was an AMAZING experience to learn about this group. If you want to learn more about this worthy 501 (3)(c), you can read about it on their FaceBook page or their website. Womensbeanproject.com

The quilts will be given to the women upon graduation, a much earned gift.
