On October 8, Jacque, Christie, Sara, and Karen delivered 55 quilts to Delores, the House Manager at Sacred Heart House of Denver. Founded in 1980 and located in a former convent, this organization provides temporary housing and support services to homeless mothers with children and single women in need. Its mission is to help these women and their families transition to stable housing and achieve self-sufficiency.
Sacred Heart House has rooms for six families as well as a dormitory for single women. Delores oversees the distribution of our quilts to residents as they move through the program. Participants complete required living skills and parenting workshops and receive assistance from case managers in securing housing and employment.
After residents move into their own homes, the follow-up program provides furniture, household goods, cleaning supplies, and birthday bags for the children. In 2024, Sacred Heart House supported more than 1,200 women and children through its services.
