On April 14, Jacque, Cathy and Karen delivered 49 quilts, six afghans, 10 receiving blankets with burp cloths, 15 pillowcases and 10 toys to Lynda, the Operations Manager at Marisol Homes. Part of Catholic Charities of Denver, Marisol Homes provides an extended stay shelter for pregnant women and single women with children. While clients can remain there up to a year, the average stay is six to eight months. Currently there are 14 women and six children in residence. The women are provided with maternity care, childcare, parenting, job skill and financial classes. Lynda kindly gave us a tour of the facility, showing us the nursery, playroom and a typical bedroom. A recent donation allowed Marisol Homes to purchase new bedding and Lynda plans to place one of our quilts on each bed.
