Spreading Holiday Warmth and Joy to CASA Youth

The holiday season is a time for giving, and a special delivery by Jacque, Karen, Christie and Cathy to Rachael with Child Advocates - Denver CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) will bring warmth and joy to youth in need. The donation included 54 quilts with 14 of those being Christmas quilts, 22 Christmas pillowcases, 18 receiving blankets, 34 drawstring bags, and 40 Christmas stockings.

These heartfelt items will be part of CASA’s annual holiday party which was held at the Elks Lodge in the Highlands on December 7 There were 120 RSVPs from foster families and their children. In addition to the quilts, winter coats and toys were also distributed at the party.

CASA volunteers work with neglected and abused children in both courtroom and community settings to make sure the child’s best interest are being met.

While the quilts were being delivered, a volunteer from Cakes4Kids arrived with a beautiful homemade cake for one of the children in the CASA program. Cakes4Kids is a nonprofit group that partners with agencies that support youth (ages 1-24) who are at-risk or underserved. Their goal is to make sure every kid has a special cake for their birthday!
