Our Evergreen Fire contact, Michael, picked up 12 snuggles from Barbara C following our recent December sew day. Michael had recently given one of their last snuggles to a 7 year old boy who was in a car accident with his father. The little boy not only had a big bump on his head, but also had a broken collarbone. Our quilt gave him comfort on the way to the hospital.
While talking with Michael, Barbara learned of the Evergreen Fire Community outreach program to check on seniors in the area. They are "well check" calls, making sure seniors have what they need and in January 2025 we will begin delivering lap and bed size quilts for these senior home visits.
