SECOR Cares Receives Supplies for New Program

SECOR Cares is starting a new program offering clients who have recently had a baby a Newborn Baby Bag. The bag will include some baby items, an item for the mom, and some literature about resources for the family.

On May 30, Cathy, Christy, Jacque, and Karen delivered the following items - 27 quilts, 39 bibs, 23 burp cloths, 35 receiving blankets, 9 books, 3 afghans, 6 stuffed rabbit toys, 36 receiving blankets with matching burp cloths attached, 19 baby hats, and 10 small stuffed toys.

SECOR Cares has a wonderful food bank facility that clients may visit. In addition, they have a mobile market several times a week in different locations. They also partner with 35 schools in Arapahoe, Douglas and Elbert counties to provide healthy food on the weekends for children who otherwise may not eat. They are currently averaging 1,700 bags per week.

Their mission is caring for people faced with suburban poverty, restoring hope and dignity, and guiding them towards a self-sufficient life.
