Quilts Bringing Courage, One Child at a Time

On September 16, Sara V. delivered 20 large quilts and 40 snuggle quilts to the ChildSafe headquarters in Fort Collins. These quilts will be shared with clients at both their Fort Collins office and their new location in Loveland. ChildSafe was founded to provide a community-based response to child sexual abuse, and our quilts are one way to offer comfort and support.

One therapist shared how a quilt made an immediate difference for a new 9-year-old client. Nervous and shy in the lobby, he wasn’t ready to go back to her office. She asked if he’d like to choose a quilt. His eyes lit up as he asked, “Do I get to take it home?” When she said yes, he eagerly started unfolding quilts until he found the perfect one. Holding it up proudly, he said, “Okay. I got my blanket. I’m ready to go back now.” That quilt gave him the comfort and confidence he needed to begin his therapy session.
