Quilt Delivery to Denver Police Department

Recently, Jeanne L, had the pleasure of meeting with Jeannette Dominguez, who is part of the Recruiting, Diversity, and Equity Bureau at the Denver Police Department. Jeannette, who has served with the department for 10 years, now oversees the Women's Police Academy. During the meeting, 41 quilts were delivered that will be distributed to those in need.

Jeannette, along with another officer, will determine the best places for these quilts. The Legacy Center, which supports young mothers by providing a space where they can complete their education while caring for their children, has been a previous recipient. The small quilts provided are used on cots where children take naps, and the best part is that the children get to keep these blankets. The young mothers at the Legacy Center have expressed true appreciation for the small quilts, which bring comfort and warmth to both them and their children.

Additionally, Shelby, a therapy dog, works with her handler to comfort traumatized children, delivering quilts and other items. This initiative has been especially successful in helping children in crisis.
