FIREHOUSE QUILTS

OF COLORADO, INC.

Quilt Delivery to Arapahoe County Human Services

On May 12, Jacque, Christie, and Cathy delivered 40 quilts to the Arapahoe County Human Services Department—each one a symbol of comfort and care for children navigating the foster care and adoption system.  Pam, Audrey, and Yangsen were on hand to graciously accept the quilts.

Arapahoe County employs three case managers in this department, each overseeing about 24 cases.  Because many involve sibling groups or family units, they may be supporting up to 50 children. Their team not only provides day-to-day support but also recruits and trains families hoping to adopt children and youth who have been removed from their homes due to safety and well-being concerns.

Right now, seven youth over the age of 12 are still waiting for permanent placement. Older kids often face the longest waits, and we hope these quilts offer a sense of warmth and stability during uncertain times.

Firehouse Quilts is grateful for the chance to support the work of this dedicated team and to bring a little extra comfort to the children they serve.
