FIREHOUSE QUILTS

OF COLORADO, INC.

New Legacy Supports Two Generations

On September 23, Sara K. and Stephen B. accepted a delivery of 51 quilts and other baby items for New Legacy Charter High. This school supports teen parents and their children, ages 0–5 years. It provides a student-centered environment that helps young parents pursue their interests and prepare for life after graduation.

The toddlers and preschoolers receive early education to build skills for success in kindergarten and beyond. The mother and father students are in the same building as their children, giving them easy access for visits and parenting classes.

Currently, 92 students are enrolled at New Legacy, including 45 parents. The donated quilts are displayed so parents can choose a favorite for their child, and some may also be taken home to siblings in need of a new quilt.
