Marisol House is an extended stay shelter for pregnant women and single women with children. It is currently filled to capacity with 16 mothers and 32 children including two sets of twins. Happily, two of the families will be moving to their own housing soon.
The women living there receive maternity care, case management, and childcare for up to a year. To leave the facility they are guided on how to find employment and receive job skill and finance courses.
Lynda, the Operations Manager and Kristin, the alumni manager, received 74 quilts, 30 pillowcases, and 30 stockings from Lori L, Karen C, and Jacque S. It was rewarding to see quilts from Firehouse Quilts in the television room and in the playrooms and nursery.
The moms were decorating the doors to their rooms as a Halloween competition and other fun decorations are being enjoyed by the children.
