On December 4, Jacque, Christie and Karen made a delivery to Debbie, Program Manager at SECOR (Southeast Community Outreach) in Parker. SECOR’s free food market helps over 450 families facing suburban poverty in Arapahoe, Douglas and Elbert counties. Their Food for Thought program provides over 2000 food bags a week to local elementary students to take home on weekends.
SECOR’s annual Holiday Market was held December 7 – 9 where families picked up meal bags, young children received toys and teens got gift cards. They were expecting to help over 800 children at this event and FHQ’s donations were among the items families could choose from. Our donation included: 56 quilts, 54 pillowcases, 14 bags, 20 hats, 7 scarves, 40 stockings and 21 stuffed animals.
