Help and Hope continues to support clients in immediate crisis Monday through Friday with compassion and respect. They offer counseling and one-time assistance with utilities, water, rent, and other essentials. Clients can also receive clothing through thrift-store vouchers and take home up to five free items per visit.
Their food bank is bustling too thanks to generous donations from the community, Food Bank of the Rockies, and local stores. With 50 food drives happening right now, they’re able to provide families with about five days’ worth of food each visit.
The birthday room is open and welcoming families, and preparations for the Christmas room are underway. Ninety-six families are already signed up, and parents will be able to choose 3-4 gifts per child.
On November 21, Firehouse Quilts delivered a wonderful assortment of comfort items to Carrie, the Client Service Manager: 48 quilts, 16 Christmas quilts, 30 stuffed toys and Squishmallows, 40 stockings, 54 pillowcases (including Christmas designs), 2 dolly quilts, 8 receiving blankets, 20 hats, 9 scarves, and 6 adult hats. Most of these treasures will go straight to the Christmas room.
Help and Hope is powered by grants, private donors, and proceeds from their Treasures thrift store, 90% of which goes directly back into services for clients.
