Firehouse Quilts recently delivered 35 quilts to the Arvada Fire Department Administration Building, with Barbara C making the drop off at one of their stations. Jillian, Jimmy, and Tracey were there to receive the quilts and shared how they distribute them throughout the community. Many of the quilts go to families in the local Head Start program, while others are given to seniors during firefighter wellness checks. Tracey also shared a memorable moment from a recent visit with a community member who proudly showed him her quilting room and the beautiful quilts she had made, a reminder of how meaningful handmade quilts can be.
Firehouse Quilts of Colorado has partnered with the Arvada Fire Department for over 10 years, and we cherish the partnership that has evolved over time. This connection was evident on Friday, February 27, when the department held its annual Awards Ceremony at Red Rocks Church. The evening included a red carpet walk, dinner, and recognition of many of their employees. Barbara C and Jacque S attended the event in support of the Community Risk Reduction Team, the group that works closely with Firehouse Quilts to distribute quilt donations. Jillian, Deanna, and Chris warmly welcomed them and expressed their appreciation for the quilts they have received over the years.
With more than 200 frontline workers, eleven fire stations, and over 19,000 emergency calls in 2025, Arvada Fire plays a vital role in the community. Firehouse Quilts is proud of its long and rewarding partnership with the department and the opportunity to help provide comfort to those they serve.
