While the temperature outside was a scorcher, 55 members of Firehouse Quilts enjoyed the air-conditioned comfort at Above & Beyond for our monthly Sew Day on August 20. A total of 176 quilts were turned in, along with 80 pillowcases, 34 stuffed animals, 100 crocheted baby hats, 12 crocheted blankets, 62 stockings, 6 dolly quilts, 3 burp cloths, 2 Halloween bags and 1 fabric book. These items will go to Florence Crittenton, Warren Village, Sacred Heart and Excalibur, as well as other organizations. Members were able to browse through several new fabric donations as well as Halloween and Christmas fabric.
